Product Description
This course is designed for beginners who are new to the art of patchwork and quilting and wish to learn the fundamental skills needed to create a complete quilt. It’s ideal for individuals with basic sewing machine knowledge, such as threading the machine and sewing simple seams, who are eager to explore quilting as a creative and rewarding hobby.
At the end of this course, you will have completed a small patchwork quilt with the skills to cut fabric, sew perfect 1/4" seams, block assembly, straight line quilting and attatching a simple binding.

Requirements
For all supplies listed, you are welcome to bring your own or these items can be purchased before the start of the first class:
- Basic skills in using a sewing machine (e.g., threading, basic stitching).
- 45mm Rotary Cutter
- 100% Cotton quilting fabric:
- 3/4 metre of white fabric
- 40 Charm Squares (package of 5" squares)
- 1/2 metre of fabric to coordinate with charm squares
- White wadding sized 45 x 60 (Crib / Baby size).
- Thread snips and a stitch unpicker.
Tools and Supplies Provided
- Thread: We will supply white thread for this project. If using our sewing machine and you wish to use a thread colour other than white, you will need to bring or purchase Aurifil 50wt thread to use on our machines.
- Cutting Station: You are required to have you own rotary cutter. Rotary cutting ruler and mats will be available for shared use at the cutting station. You are welcome to bring your own ruler and cutting mat if you choose.
- Ironing Station: We provide our students with an ironing table and irons for shared use. You are welcome to bring a small ironing mat and mini iron if you choose.
Sewing Machine
We provide the sewing machine and thread for this course, however you are welcome to bring your own sewing machine in good working order. We will assume you are knowledgable in the basic use of your own machine and will not be able to provide instruction on its specific features and functionality.
