Product Description
Neon Green 100% Cotton Webbing, 25 mm | Sold by the Metre
Stephanoise cotton webbing for bag handles, cross-body straps, fabric baskets, and organisers. It’s sold by the metre, and when you order more than one metre we supply it in one continuous length, so longer straps can be cut without unnecessary joins. This colourway, Neon Green, brings a sharp, high-visibility accent while the plain weave and firm hand keep the profile tidy. The tape measures 25 mm (1")—a versatile width for everyday totes and adjustable straps.
Made from 100% cotton, the webbing has a natural, matte surface and a comfortable grip. Cotton is straightforward to sew and finish: it feeds predictably under the foot, presses to crisp folds for strap ends and keepers, and shows topstitching cleanly. Do note that cotton is less water-resistant than synthetics. For bags likely to meet wet weather, consider adding a water-repellent treatment or using a synthetic webbing for those specific projects. For daily carry, the dense construction resists twisting, keeps edges stable, and delivers a restrained, fabric-first finish despite the bright colour.
Hardware sizing determines function and appearance. Match the tape with 25 mm internal-width fittings—D-rings, sliders, triglides, and swivel hooks—to maintain smooth movement and avoid buckling at attachment points. Ends cut cleanly; secure by turning under and topstitching, enclosing in a fabric tab, or applying a narrow zigzag where extra durability is required. A slightly longer stitch length helps prevent compressing the weave and keeps the stitch line even.

Maker’s notes
-
Cut cleanly with a fresh rotary blade; seal ends by turning under and topstitching or by binding with a fabric tab.
-
Stitch comfortably with a walking foot or standard foot plus a longer stitch (3–3.5 mm) to avoid compression lines.
-
Press to shape: cotton webbing accepts a warm press; use steam to flatten folded ends before topstitching.
-
Moisture considerations: cotton absorbs water; for outdoor bags, consider a water-repellent finish or liner.
-
Hardware fit: measure internal hardware widths—25 mm components give the best alignment and movement.
