Matilda's Own Wool Cotton Blend
A naturally soft and breathable blend for warm yet lightweight quilts.
Blending the best of both fibres, Matilda’s Own Wool/Cotton quilt wadding offers a beautifully soft, low-to-medium loft with the comfort and breathability of natural fibres. Composed of 60% wool and 40% cotton, this needle-punched batting is made in Australia using a premium blend of seed-free cotton and fine wool fibres—no glues, sprays, resins, or scrim.
Designed for quilters who love the warmth and insulation of wool without the extra bulk, this blend creates a supple drape and excellent stitch definition, whether quilted by hand or machine. The wool content provides natural thermal regulation, while the cotton adds softness and structure, making it a popular choice for year-round quilts, bed throws, and heirloom projects.
Easy to work with and gentle on needles, it’s also a great option for those with sensitivities, thanks to its breathable, hypoallergenic composition. This wadding washes well and maintains a classic, traditional look with less shrinkage and no added chemicals.
