Let us help you find the right fabric
Have a fabric in your stash that you’d love to use, but aren’t sure which colours will go with it? Perhaps you’re looking for a background for a quilt, a binding to bring everything together, or a fabric that matches one you already have.
Not everyone has a local quilt shop nearby, and choosing fabric colours online isn’t always easy. Screens and lighting can change how colours appear, making it difficult to know whether fabrics will work together when they arrive.
That’s why we offer our free fabric matching service. Send us a small swatch and we’ll do our best to suggest coordinating fabrics from our current selection. Whether you’re looking for a close colour match or something that complements your fabric, let us know what you have in mind.

How it works
1. Send us a swatchCut a small swatch from the fabric you’d like us to match. If it’s a print, try to include the colours you’d like us to focus on.

2. Tell us what you needPlease include a note with your swatch containing:

3. Post it to usPlease send your swatch and note to: Morris Works Quilt Shop You’ll need to cover the cost of posting your swatch to us, but our matching service is free. |
4. We’ll find some options for youOnce your swatch arrives, we’ll compare it with fabrics in our current selection and send you an image of your fabric alongside our best choices. You can then decide which, if any, you’d like to order. If you’d find it helpful to talk through the options, a video call can also be arranged on request. If you place an order, we’ll return your original swatch with it. |
How the Morris Code for Fabric can help
Our fabric matching service is part of the colour guidance we offer at Morris Works. We’ve also developed the Morris Code for Fabric to help you explore fabric colours online with more confidence.
We hand-match our plain, tonal and background fabrics to one of 24 colour families based on the Ives colour wheel. This makes it easier to find fabrics in the same colour family across different collections and designers.
