Fusible Web

Dry iron pressing a paper-backed fusible web sheet onto fabric to create a permanent bond.Iron On for Clean, Permanent Bonds

Create crisp appliqué, secure binding, and sturdy bag panels with heat-activated fusible web. Paper-backed sheets and rolls make it easy to trace, cut, and press precise shapes, giving you a permanent, washable bond that stays soft and stitchable.

How to Choose

  • Bond & weight: Light and medium webs keep quilt appliqué soft and are stitch friendly; strong webs add a no sew grip for badges, pockets, and bag panels. All options are fabric-safe, washable, and designed for stitch-through results.
  • Format: Paper-backed sheets are perfect for tracing motifs; rolls and tapes suit borders, hems, and longer runs. Choose widths/lengths to minimise joins.
  • Technique: Press, don’t iron—use your iron and a pressing cloth or baking parchment. Allow to cool before peeling the paper, then press to fuse. Always check the product details for specific temperature and pressing times.
  • Sewability: Quality fusible webs won’t gum your needle when used as directed. If you’re new to a brand, test on a scrap to dial in heat and timing.
  • Best for: Raw-edge appliqué, badges and patches, hems, bag panels, quilting motifs, and quick repairs where a clean permanent bond is needed.
