A Classic Blend for Strength, Softness, and Versatility
Matilda’s Own 80/20 Cotton Poly Wadding offers the perfect balance between the natural softness of cotton and the strength and stability of polyester. Made from 80% Australian cotton and 20% polyester, this wadding is ideal for quilters who want the traditional look and feel of cotton with a bit more resilience and ease of handling.
This blend offers excellent stitch definition, a soft hand, and a low-loft appearance that suits both hand and machine quilting. The polyester content improves durability and reduces the risk of shrinkage or distortion, while the high cotton content ensures breathability and comfort.
Needle-punched with a fine scrim, the wadding holds fibres in place and prevents bearding. With an approximate loft of ⅛+ inch (3mm), a maximum stitch distance of 10" (25.4cm), and prewashing and preshrinking for minimal shrinkage (2.5%), it performs consistently across a wide range of quilting styles.
