Product Description
Achieve Crisp Seams on Curves and Larger Blocks
Curved seams ask more of a clapper than straight ones do, and this is the size built to handle them.
The Large Tailor's Clapper has more length than the smaller sizes, so more of it sits against a gentle, sweeping curve in one go — think Drunkard's Path, Dresden plates, or scalloped borders. A smaller clapper only catches a short stretch of curve at a time; this one covers more of the arc before you need to reposition. It also carries more weight than its smaller siblings, so it holds more heat and steam, and sets a seam with less effort on your part.
Press your seam with a hot, steamy iron, then place the clapper along the curve, holding it firmly for ten to fifteen seconds. The wood absorbs the steam as it cools, and the seam sets flat and crisp.
Beech wood, with the same smooth, rounded shape and comfortable grip as the rest of the range, just with more length and weight behind it.
