Product Description
Achieve Crisp Seams on Larger Blocks
If you've ever stood at the ironing board willing a seam to lie flat and stay there, this is the tool that does it for you.
The Milward Quilter's Clapper is a solid block of hardwood, and its job is simple: it pulls the steam and heat out of your fabric while it cools, so the seam sets flat instead of springing back up. Press your seam with a hot, steamy iron, then place the clapper down firmly for ten to fifteen seconds. That's it — no more re-pressing the same seam three times trying to get it to behave.
At 9" x 9", this is the larger of our two square clappers, and the extra surface area earns its keep on bigger work — long borders, sashing strips, big block intersections, anything where a smaller clapper would mean working in stages. It's heavier in the hand too, which means it holds more heat and does more of the work for you.
Works with steam or dry irons, and suits quilters, dressmakers, and anyone doing precision sewing where a flat seam actually matters.
