Hobbs Heirloom Natural 100% Cotton Wadding - the perfect choice for quilters who desire a traditional looking quilt with exceptional softness.
This 7.5 metre roll is made from the finest, clean, natural (unbleached), long-staple, virgin cotton available and proudly displays the Cotton Incorporated Seal.
Designed for quilters who prefer using a natural cotton wadding, this product gets even softer with each washing. It's perfect for medium or dark fabrics, but if you're pairing it with white or light-colored fabrics, please test it first as natural cotton can slightly darken the fabrics.
We recommend quilters test this wadding with their chosen fabric(s) to see if ‘darkening’ will be an issue – and if it will be, we recommend using Hobbs Heirloom Bleached Cotton Blend Wadding as an alternative. Hobbs Heirloom Natural 100% Cotton Wadding can be stitched up to 4" apart and is machine washable (once quilted), with an expected shrinkage of 3-5%.
To ensure you get the desired results, we recommend making samples using this wadding to see how it needles, both by hand or by machine, and how it launders. Please note that pre-washing is not recommended for this or any of our other quality wadding products.

Pre-washing is not recommended for this or any of the Hobbs wadding/batting products.
Washing Instructions for Finished Quilt
Always wash in cold or cool water. Expect additional shrinkage if washed in warm water. Not recommended to wash in hot water.
It is recommended to air dry, though a finished quilted item can be tumble dried in a drier on air to cool setting.
Important Information
Basting spray is not recommended for use with the wadding, as repositioning the top and bottom fabrics can pull apart the cotton.
