Product Description
Premium 100% Cotton Quilt Wadding
If you're after that timeless, traditional quilt look with beautiful softness, Hobbs Heirloom Natural 100% Cotton Wadding is a brilliant choice. Made from the finest quality, unbleached long-staple virgin cotton, it’s non-allergenic and proudly bears the Cotton Incorporated Seal.
This natural cotton wadding feels soft straight from the start—and only gets better with every wash. It’s ideal for quilters who prefer natural fibres and want that classic, gently crinkled finish cotton is known for.
It works best with medium or dark fabrics, but if you’re using white or very light fabric, do test first—natural cotton can slightly darken pale tones. If shadowing is a concern, consider Hobbs Heirloom Bleached Cotton Blend as a lighter alternative.
You can quilt up to 4" apart, and once stitched into your project, this wadding is machine washable with around 3–5% shrinkage, giving your quilt a lovely, slightly puckered texture. We always recommend making a small sample first to see how it needles—whether by hand or machine—and how it behaves when washed.
There’s no need to pre-wash this or any of our premium wadding products. Just piece, quilt, and enjoy the soft, cosy results.

Heirloom wadding
Great wadding for quilting
-
Grading system required
It would be helpful if you rated your wadding at say, a very thin 1 for baby blankets and a 10 for arctic thickness, and numbers and thicknesses in between. Then quality like A,B,C etc. Then I have to choose a say 3B for a medium quality, slightly thicker-thin quilt. Even if grading is in house, I would find this useful.
