Hobbs Heirloom Premium 100% Wool Wadding is a favourite among quilters—and for good reason. It offers incredible stitch definition, a soft, luxurious feel, and just the right amount of loft to bring your patchwork to life.
Made from the finest superwashed wool in the world, this batting is breathable and lightweight, yet remarkably resilient. The superwashing process smooths the natural scales on wool fibres, giving it a gentle touch and helping to minimise shrinkage. It needles beautifully by hand or machine and resists bearding and fibre migration—qualities every quilter appreciates.
Thanks to its airy loft and lovely drape, this wadding is especially popular for show quilts. It doesn’t hold creases, so quilts hang smooth and flat—even after being stored or folded. That makes it ideal for display as well as everyday use.

Quilting Distance
Please ensure your quilting distance is no wider than 4 inches (10cm) apart.Care & Usage Tips
- Shrinkage: 3–5%
- Maximum Stitch Distance: 4" (10.2 cm)
- Suitable for both hand quilting and machine quilting
- Do not prewash. Use with care if washing the finished quilt on wool cycle or gentle setting. Only wash in cold or cool water. NEVER wash quilted items made with wool wadding in warm or hot water. It is recommended to air dry, though a finished quilted item can be tumble dried in a drier on air to cool setting.
