Product Description
Cream with Rainbow Teeth & Pull | No.5 Continuous Zip
Soft and versatile with a bright little wink, Cream with Rainbow is the sort of zip that adapts to almost any palette. The tape is a warm cream with a subtle herringbone weave that presses flat and looks refined up close. Running through the centre is a metal-look rainbow coil that shifts from pinks to green, yellow and blue—an understated accent that lifts neutrals and complements prints without stealing the scene.
Sold by the ½ metre, multiples are supplied in one continuous length, so you can cut precise runs for pockets, main openings and matching accessories with minimal offcuts. Each ½ metre includes one #5 teardrop ring pull in a silver tone; add extra pulls if you plan a double slider or several shorter zips from a single length.
The construction is Size 5 (5 mm) continuous nylon coil, chosen for dependable handling on domestic machines. Coil feeds smoothly under a zipper foot, is kinder to needles than metal teeth, and flexes neatly around curved openings and boxed corners. Top-stitching sits cleanly on the herringbone tape for a crisp, parallel finish. If you value components that behave predictably and look tidy, this format earns its keep in the notions drawer.
Design pairings are straightforward. Let the cream tape soften dark exteriors (charcoal, navy, black), or keep things light with linen, pale solids and small-scale prints. The multi-hued teeth invite subtle echoes—pick up one coil colour in your lining, zip ends or webbing for a pulled-together result. Hardware is easy too: the nickel/silver-tone pull sits comfortably with D-rings, sliders, triglides and swivel hooks in the same finish.
Because this is continuous zip, you set the spec. Feed sliders from either direction to create single- or double-pull zips, trim to the millimetre, and finish ends to suit your pattern—fold back and stitch for a neat stop or seal carefully with a fray-preventer. It’s a flexible, workshop-friendly staple

-
Use a zipper foot and a steady, moderate stitch length for parallel top-stitching.
-
Basting tape keeps layers aligned; press lightly from the wrong side if needed.

You can stitch across nylon coil when a pattern requires it; avoid this on metal teeth.
-
To finish short ends, fold back the tape and stitch, or apply fray-prevention.
Other Details
✨ Attaching a Zipper Pull
- Separate the ends of the zip tape by a few centimetres to give yourself space.
- Place the slider so the flat side faces upward and the curved side points down.
- Insert the first side of the tape into the slider until it catches.
- Line up the second side carefully and feed it into the opposite channel.
- Push both sides in gently until the teeth begin to mesh.
- Slide the pull along the tape to check it’s secure and moving smoothly.
✂️ Snip Snip Tip: For easier threading, cut about 5 mm of the zipper teeth off one side of the tape. Feed the longer side with the teeth into the slider first, then the trimmed side — the stagger helps the pull catch and align cleanly.
Alternative: Trimming both ends of the tape on a slight angle can also help. Seal the cut edges with a quick pass of heat or fray stop to prevent unravelling.
