Product Description
Tan with Rainbow Teeth & Pull | No.5 Continuous Zip
Warm, grounded, and quietly cheerful, Tan with Rainbow is an easy add to a maker’s toolkit. The tape is a versatile tan with a subtle herringbone weave—smart enough for structured bags yet relaxed enough for everyday pouches. Through the centre runs a metal-look rainbow coil that shifts across magenta, lime, teal and sky blue. It’s a small flash of colour that livens up utility fabrics, coordinates beautifully with prints, and doesn’t fight with the rest of the design.
You buy it by the ½ metre; order multiples and we’ll supply them in one continuous length so you can cut exact runs for pockets, main openings and matching accessories with very little waste. Each ½ metre includes one #5 teardrop ring pull in a silver tone. Add extra pulls if you’re planning a double slider or several shorter zips from a single length.
The specification is Size 5 (5 mm) continuous nylon coil, chosen for its dependable behaviour on domestic machines. Nylon coil feeds smoothly under a zipper foot, is gentler on needles than metal teeth, and flexes neatly around gussets and boxed corners. The herringbone tape presses flat and takes top-stitching cleanly, giving that tidy, parallel finish makers look for. If you value components that sew predictably and wear well, this format earns its place in the notions drawer.
Colour pairing is straightforward. The tan base plays nicely with canvas, tweed, denim and linen; it warms cool greys and grounds bright linings. Pick out one of the coil’s colours in your webbing, zipper ends or lining to pull the scheme together. Hardware is simple too: the nickel/silver-tone pull teams with D-rings, sliders, triglides and swivel hooks in the same finish for a coherent look from strap to closure.
Because this is continuous zip, you decide the configuration. Feed sliders from either direction for single- or double-pull zips, trim to the millimetre, and finish ends to suit your pattern—fold back and stitch for a clean stop, or seal carefully with a fray-preventer. It’s a flexible, workshop-friendly staple for travel organisers, project cases, wash bags and everyday totes.

You can stitch across nylon coil when a pattern requires it; avoid this on metal teeth.

To finish short ends, fold back the tape and stitch, or apply fray-prevention.
Other Details
✨ Attaching a Zipper Pull
- Separate the ends of the zip tape by a few centimetres to give yourself space.
- Place the slider so the flat side faces upward and the curved side points down.
- Insert the first side of the tape into the slider until it catches.
- Line up the second side carefully and feed it into the opposite channel.
- Push both sides in gently until the teeth begin to mesh.
- Slide the pull along the tape to check it’s secure and moving smoothly.
✂️ Snip Snip Tip: For easier threading, cut about 5 mm of the zipper teeth off one side of the tape. Feed the longer side with the teeth into the slider first, then the trimmed side — the stagger helps the pull catch and align cleanly.
Alternative: Trimming both ends of the tape on a slight angle can also help. Seal the cut edges with a quick pass of heat or fray stop to prevent unravelling.
