Product Description
Grey with Rainbow Teeth & Pull | No.5 Continuous Zip
A calm neutral with a quiet flash of colour, Grey with Rainbow gives you the best of both worlds: a versatile herringbone grey tape that blends with almost anything, and a metal-look rainbow coil that shifts through magenta, lime, teal and sky blue. It’s a tidy way to add personality to bags and organisers without overwhelming the design. Order by the ½ metre; when you buy multiples we supply them in one continuous length so you can cut exact runs for pockets, main openings and matching accessories. Each ½ metre includes one #5 teardrop ring pull in a silver tone. Add extra pulls if you’d like double sliders or several shorter zips from the same length.
Built for reliable handling, this is Size 5 (5 mm) continuous nylon coil. The coil feeds smoothly under a zipper foot, is kinder to domestic needles than metal teeth, and flexes well around curved opening and boxed corners. Top-stitching sits cleanly on the herringbone tape, which adds a subtle, tailored texture and helps edges press flat. If your priority is components that sew predictably and look polished, this format earns its place in the notions drawer.
The colour story is effortless. Keep the bag body neutral (charcoal, fog, oatmeal, denim) and let the rainbow coil act as the accent; or echo one of the coil hues in your lining, webbing, or zip end tabs. Hardware pairing is straightforward too—nickel/silver-tone D-rings, sliders, triglides and swivel hooks sit comfortably alongside the multi-colour coil for a cohesive finish.
Because this is continuous zip, you’re free to configure exactly what you need: feed sliders from either direction for single- or double-pull zips, trim to the millimetre, and finish ends to suit your pattern—fold back and stitch, or seal carefully with a fray-preventer. It’s a flexible, workshop-friendly component that supports neat, durable results across pouches, wash bags, project cases and everyday totes.

Maker’s notes
-
Use a zipper foot and a steady, moderate stitch length for parallel top-stitching.
-
Basting tape keeps layers aligned; press lightly from the wrong side if needed.
-
You can stitch across nylon coil when a pattern requires it; avoid this on metal teeth.
-
To finish short ends, fold back the tape and stitch, or apply fray-prevention.
Other Details
✨ Attaching a Zipper Pull
- Separate the ends of the zip tape by a few centimetres to give yourself space.
- Place the slider so the flat side faces upward and the curved side points down.
- Insert the first side of the tape into the slider until it catches.
- Line up the second side carefully and feed it into the opposite channel.
- Push both sides in gently until the teeth begin to mesh.
- Slide the pull along the tape to check it’s secure and moving smoothly.
✂️ Snip Snip Tip: For easier threading, cut about 5 mm of the zipper teeth off one side of the tape. Feed the longer side with the teeth into the slider first, then the trimmed side — the stagger helps the pull catch and align cleanly.
Alternative: Trimming both ends of the tape on a slight angle can also help. Seal the cut edges with a quick pass of heat or fray stop to prevent unravelling.
