Product Description
Achieve Crisp Seams on Smaller Piecing
Smaller blocks need a clapper that won't overwhelm them, and that's exactly where this size comes in.
The Tailor's Clapper is a smooth, rounded bar rather than a flat square block. Its narrow width and rounded ends mean it sits into corners and along narrower seam allowances that a wide square block simply won't fit into. At this size, it's also scaled to suit smaller pieced units and mini quilt blocks, sitting neatly within the work without overhanging the edges or getting in your way.
Press your seam with a hot, steamy iron, then hold the clapper firmly over it for ten to fifteen seconds. The wood absorbs the steam as it cools, and the seam sets flat instead of springing back up.
It's beech wood, with a smooth, comfortable grip — the same satisfying weight as the rest of the range, just scaled down to suit smaller piecing.
