Matilda's Own 50/50 Bamboo & Cotton Quilt Wadding combines 50% bamboo-derived fibre with 50% cotton, creating a beautifully soft, low-loft wadding with the added stability of cotton. Made in Australia, this versatile blend has a smooth feel and soft drape, making it an excellent choice for quilts, throws, bedding and other quilted projects.
The combination of bamboo and cotton brings together the soft handle of bamboo wadding with the familiar qualities of cotton. Matilda's Own specifically highlights the addition of cotton for increased stability and softness, creating a balanced wadding that is comfortable to work with and suitable for both hand and machine quilting.
Needle-punched for stability, the wadding holds together well during handling and quilting while remaining soft and easy to needle. Its low loft produces a flatter quilted finish with good definition, without adding unnecessary bulk.
At approximately 2.4 metres (94") wide, this wadding is sold cut to length in ½ metre increments, allowing you to order the amount required for your individual project. Whether you're making a bed quilt, throw, baby quilt or smaller quilted piece, the generous width makes it a practical and versatile option.
Your wadding is cut to length in our Hove studio and carefully prepared for dispatch. All Morris Works cut-to-length wadding is sent in plastic-free packaging, so you can order just what your project requires without unnecessary plastic packaging.

Care & Usage Tips
- Shrinkage: 2.5%
- Maximum Stitch Distance: 10" (25 cm)
- Suitable for both hand quilting and machine quilting
- Prewash not required. Recommended to wash in cold or cool water. Note that if washed in warm or hot water, additional shrinkage will happen, resulting in a very crinkled look. It is always recommended to air dry, though a finished quilted item can be tumble dried in a drier on a cool setting.
