Product Description
Magnetic Seam Guide For Sewing Machines
This Magnetic Seam Guide is a simple, dependable aid for setting and maintaining an even seam allowance. It attaches magnetically to the metal throat plate of a mechanical sewing machine and provides a firm edge for your fabric to run against, keeping stitching straight on long seams and helping you repeat the same width from piece to piece. For quilt piecing, dressmaking and bag construction, it offers quiet accuracy without fuss.
The guide’s compact body (approx. 0.9 × 3.7 × 2 cm) sits low beside the presser foot so visibility remains clear. An anti-skid base helps prevent drift from vibration, and the strong internal magnet holds the guide where you set it. Because the housing is lightweight and rust-free, it won’t mark fabrics or add unnecessary weight to the needle plate. The rounded top is comfortable to nudge into position and the cheerful smiley design makes it easy to spot on the worktable.
Position the guide to suit your task: a scant ¼" for patchwork, wider allowances for bag seams, or a reference for top-stitching. Once placed, it supports consistent feed and reduces the small wobbles that can creep in over longer runs. It is equally useful when pressing a hem to a measured width and then returning to the machine for a parallel line of stitching. Makers who like to chain-piece will appreciate the repeatability; learners benefit from having a tactile reference while they develop control.
Available in four colours—Aqua Blue, Jet Black, Hot Pink and Orchid Purple—the guide can be colour-coded for different seam widths or shared in classes. Presented on a counter-top magnetic display card for studios and workshops.
Note If You Have a Computerised Machine
Always check your machine manual first. In general, magnetic guides are fine when placed only on the metal stitch/throat plate. The guide should never be positioned near the main control board or LCD area on the right-hand side of the machine.
