Product Description
Hand stitch your way to calm with traditional Japanese Sashiko
Discover the beauty and mindfulness of traditional Japanese Sashiko stitching in this 4-hour hands-on workshop. Suitable for beginners and experienced sewists alike, the class focuses on the decorative and practical art of Sashiko — a technique originally used to reinforce or mend fabric, now celebrated for its striking geometric designs and meditative stitching process.
With class sizes limited to 10 students, you’ll enjoy plenty of personal guidance as you learn to transfer and hand-stitch the elegant Sakura (Cherry Blossom) motif onto cloth. At the end of the session, you’ll take home your completed sample, which can later be used to create a cushion cover, small bag, or other handmade item of your choosing.
All tools and materials are provided in a convenient zip-up kit — yours to keep — and we’ll keep you going with free tea, coffee, and biscuits throughout.
