Durable, reliable, and wonderfully versatile — our Matilda’s Own 100% Polyester Quilt Wadding Remnants are a practical option for everyday quilting, high-use projects, and makers who want a low-maintenance wadding with dependable structure.
These remnants are created in-house from roll ends and careful trimming during cutting, so sizes will vary — but every piece is made from the same premium polyester fibre blend as our full-length cuts. Designed for strength and longevity, this wadding offers a soft hand with excellent resilience, helping projects maintain their shape even with frequent use.
Ideal for wall hangings, table runners, playmats, cushions, pet quilts, or experimenting with new techniques, remnants provide flexibility without waste. The fine stabilising scrim helps prevent bearding and allows for a generous quilting distance of up to 10", making it suitable for both hand and machine quilting.
With a comfortable loft and durable structure, polyester wadding is an excellent choice for projects that need to be lightweight yet long-lasting. Prewashed and preshrunk for stability, it delivers consistent stitch definition while remaining easy to needle — perfect for both traditional and modern quilting styles.
Each remnant is hand-folded and packaged plastic-free in our Brighton shop, supporting a more thoughtful and sustainable approach to quilting.

- Shrinkage: 2.5%
- Maximum Stitch Distance: 10" (25 cm)
- Suitable for both hand quilting and machine quilting
- Prewash not required. Recommended to wash in cold to warm water. It is always recommended to air dry, though a finished quilted item can be tumble dried in a drier on a warm setting.
