Product Description
Blue Stripe with Gold Teeth & Pull | No.5 Continuous Zip
Crisp and quietly cheerful, this Size 5 continuous zipper tape in Blue Stripe with Gold brings a refined hardware look to everyday makes. The tape shows a soft sky-blue and white fine stripe and a metal-look gold coil—so you get the brightness of gold hardware without the weight or rigidity of metal teeth. Sold by the ½ metre, your order is supplied in one continuous length when you purchase multiples, allowing you to cut exact sizes for pockets, main openings, and organisers with minimal waste. Each ½ metre includes one matching #5 teardrop ring pull; add extra pulls if you’d like double sliders or several short zips from a single length.
Built for practical sewing, nylon coil stitches smoothly and is kind to domestic needles. It flexes around curve and boxed corners, lies flat under top-stitching, and offers dependable day-to-day wear. Size 5 (5 mm) has the reassuring presence you want for bag openings and travel pouches while remaining supple for notions cases, wash bags, craft storage, and cushion backs. The gold coil coordinates neatly with gold-tone D-rings, sliders, triglides and swivel hooks, giving your project a consistent hardware story from strap to zip.
Because this is continuous zip, you control every detail. Feed sliders from either direction to create single- or double-pull zips, trim to the millimetre, and finish ends to suit your pattern. The subtle Blue Stripe tape adds texture without noise—easy to pair with denim chambray, natural linen, buttery neutrals, or crisp navy solids.

Maker’s notes
-
Use a zipper foot and a steady, moderate stitch length for parallel top-stitching.
-
Basting tape keeps layers aligned; press lightly from the wrong side if needed.
-
You can stitch across nylon coil when a pattern requires it; avoid this on metal teeth.
-
To finish short ends, fold back the tape and stitch, or apply fray-prevention.
If you value components that support good workmanship and a cohesive finish, Blue Stripe with Gold is a versatile choice: flexible, easy to handle, and ready to coordinate with gold-tone hardware for a polished result across bags, pouches and home-sewn accessories.

✨ Attaching a Zipper Pull
- Separate the ends of the zip tape by a few centimetres to give yourself space.
- Place the slider so the flat side faces upward and the curved side points down.
- Insert the first side of the tape into the slider until it catches.
- Line up the second side carefully and feed it into the opposite channel.
- Push both sides in gently until the teeth begin to mesh.
- Slide the pull along the tape to check it’s secure and moving smoothly.
✂️ Snip Snip Tip: For easier threading, cut about 5 mm of the zipper teeth off one side of the tape. Feed the longer side with the teeth into the slider first, then the trimmed side — the stagger helps the pull catch and align cleanly.
Alternative: Trimming both ends of the tape on a slight angle can also help. Seal the cut edges with a quick pass of heat or fray stop to prevent unravelling.
