This tone-on-tone thread has multiple shades of colour throughout the length of the thread which will produce a gradient effect when stitched. This is a great thread which will intermix with blender fabrics of these colours. This is also a great thread to use on your background fabric to highlight these same colours in your patchwork.
Aurifil’s 100% Cotton 12wt/2ply thread is wound on a red spool. It is perfect for hand applique, hand embroidery, hand quilting, cross stitch, embellishment, handmade lace, machine applique, blanket stitch, machine embroidery (especially for designs that use a longer stitch length), machine art quilting, Sashiko, redwork, lower looper serging, and longarm quilting.hole Cloth and Micro Quilting, and Dense Background Designs.
Bobbin: Aurifil 50wt for Domestic and 28wt for Longarm machines.
Needle: 100/16 or 90/14 Topstitch Needle for Domestic machines || 4.5 Needle for Longarm Machines.
Tips:
- When using 12wt thread by machine, we recommend using a much thinner thread in the bobbin, like 50wt.
- When using in a Longarm machine, quilt slowly, using a longer stitch and silicone conditioner where necessary.
Washing Instructions:
- Machine wash in cold to warm water - no more than 60C / 140F
- Tumble dry at low to no heat
- Iron on low heat
- Launder without bleach
