Looking for a more affordable way to work with a premium wool and cotton blend wadding? Our Matilda’s Own 60% Wool / 40% Cotton Quilt Wadding Remnants offer a practical and eco-conscious option for quilters who love natural fibres with gentle loft and warmth.
These remnants are created in-house from roll ends and careful trimming during cutting, so sizes will vary — but the quality remains exactly the same as our full-length cuts. Made from the same breathable wool and cotton blend, they provide lightweight insulation, beautiful drape, and the soft resilience that makes this wadding such a favourite for bed quilts and heirloom projects.
Perfect for baby quilts, throws, cushions, small quilting experiments, or testing how wool blend wadding behaves under your needle, remnants give you the freedom to create without committing to a larger piece. The stabilising scrim allows for a generous stitch distance of up to 10", offering flexibility whether you prefer hand quilting or machine quilting.
Naturally breathable and comfortable, wool helps wick moisture while cotton adds structure and balance — making this blend suitable for year-round use. The fibres are needle punched and free from resins, glues, or sprays, creating a soft yet stable finish with minimal bearding.
Each remnant is hand-folded and packaged plastic-free in our Brighton shop, because thoughtful making and sustainable choices go hand in hand.
