Looking for the perfect wadding for baby quilts, lap quilts, or small throws? This Hobbs Heirloom Natural 100% Cotton Wadding in a Crib Size pack is a lovely option for smaller quilting projects that still deserve premium materials.
Measuring 48" x 60" (122 x 152 cm), this pack is cut in-house from the bolt and sent to you in plastic-free packaging—just one of the ways we’re keeping things sustainable at Morris Works.
Made from the finest unbleached, long-staple virgin cotton, this soft and breathable wadding is naturally non-allergenic and carries the Cotton Incorporated Seal as a mark of quality. It softens beautifully with each wash, giving your quilts a comforting, gently crinkled finish.
This natural cotton wadding is best suited to light and dark fabrics, but it may slightly dull large amounts of white background fabric. If you're working with white fabrics, we recommend testing a swatch first to check for any shadowing. For light projects, consider Hobbs Heirloom Bleached Cotton Blend Wadding instead.
You can quilt up to 4" apart—whether by hand or machine—and once your project is finished, this wadding is machine washable with around 3–5% shrinkage. We don’t recommend pre-washing any of our waddings, including this one.

Pre-Wash
Pre-washing is not recommended for this or any of the Hobbs wadding/batting products.
Washing Instructions for Finished Quilt
Always wash in cold or cool water. Expect additional shrinkage if washed in warm water. Not recommended to wash in hot water.
It is recommended to air dry, though a finished quilted item can be tumble dried in a drier on air to cool setting.
Important Information
Basting spray is not recommended for use with the wadding, as repositioning the top and bottom fabrics can pull apart the cotton.
