Decovil I Light by Vlieseline is a premium fusible interlining that combines strength with flexibility, offering a unique leather-like handle for a professional finish. It is the lighter and softer alternative to Decovil I, yet it retains the same excellent properties: tear-resistant, dimensionally stable, resilient, and easy to shape. This balance of stability and softness makes it an essential choice for projects that need structure without bulk.
Application areas include a wide range of creative and practical sewing projects. Decovil I Light is particularly well-suited for bag making, belts, hats, and pouches, where durability and shape retention are essential. It is also an excellent option for interior design and home décor sewing, including storage organisers, baskets, and textile accents. Suitable for cotton, synthetic, and decorative fabrics, it offers versatility across patchwork, quilting, and craft sewing applications.
Processing is simple: place the coated side against the reverse side of the fabric, cover with a damp cloth, and press with an iron for around 6 seconds, section by section. After bonding, allow the piece to cool flat for 30 minutes to stabilise the adhesion. Once fused, Decovil I Light provides a stable, tear-resistant surface that resists bending, fraying, and distortion. At 250 g/m² and 90 cm wide, it is easy to cut, sew, and even punch in multiple layers if required. Whether for structured handbags, hats, or durable home décor pieces, this interfacing ensures reliable support and a refined, leather-like finish.
