Product Description
No.5 Continuous Zip in Dark Salmon
Bold, warm, and distinctive, this No.5 continuous zipper tape in Dark Salmon brings a rich splash of colour to your sewing projects. Sold by the ½ metre, it’s supplied in one continuous length when you order more than one unit, so you can cut the exact size required for your pattern. Each ½ metre includes one matching rectangular #5 pull; extra pulls are available separately so you can create either single- or double-pull zips with ease.
Made with a nylon coil, this zip offers both durability and flexibility. It glides smoothly, curves neatly around gussets and boxed corners, and sews cleanly under top-stitching without adding bulk. Size 5 (5 mm coil width) provides the balance that bag makers rely on—strong enough for everyday use, yet still lightweight enough to suit pouches, cases, and accessories. Perfect for handbags, backpacks, wash bags, project organisers, and home décor makes such as cushions and storage bins.
The continuous format puts you in control: cut the tape to any length, add sliders from either direction, and tailor the closure to your project. In Dark Salmon, the tone-on-tone tape, coil, and pull make a confident design statement. It pairs beautifully with warm neutrals, soft florals, or bold prints, and can serve as either a subtle complement or a striking contrast in your finished work.

Maker’s notes
-
For best results, use a zipper foot and a moderate stitch length for tidy, parallel stitching.
-
Double-sided basting tape is helpful to hold the tape securely while sewing.
-
To finish ends, fold the tape back and stitch down, or enclose with a fabric tab.
-
You can safely sew across nylon coil; avoid stitching across metal teeth.
If you enjoy components that add both strength and style, this Dark Salmon No.5 continuous zip is a versatile choice—practical, adaptable, and designed to give your handmade projects a professional edge with a touch of colour.

✨ Attaching a Zipper Pull
- Separate the ends of the zip tape by a few centimetres to give yourself space.
- Place the slider so the flat side faces upward and the curved side points down.
- Insert the first side of the tape into the slider until it catches.
- Line up the second side carefully and feed it into the opposite channel.
- Push both sides in gently until the teeth begin to mesh.
- Slide the pull along the tape to check it’s secure and moving smoothly.
✂️ Snip Snip Tip: For easier threading, cut about 5 mm of the zipper teeth off one side of the tape. Feed the longer side with the teeth into the slider first, then the trimmed side — the stagger helps the pull catch and align cleanly.
Alternative: Trimming both ends of the tape on a slight angle can also help. Seal the cut edges with a quick pass of heat or fray stop to prevent unravelling.
