Product Description
No.5 Continuous Zip in Pale Mint
Fresh, lively, and versatile, this No.5 continuous zipper tape in Mint is a cheerful addition to any maker’s toolkit. Sold by the ½ metre, it’s supplied in one continuous length when you order more than one unit, so you can cut the exact size you need for bag openings, pockets, or organisers. Each ½ metre includes one matching rectangular #5 pull; extra pulls are available separately so you can configure single- or double-pull zips with ease.
The nylon coil construction ensures a smooth glide and dependable strength while remaining flexible enough to sew easily around curves, gussets, and boxed corners. Softer on domestic-machine needles than metal, the No.5 coil width (5 mm) strikes the right balance—substantial enough for everyday bags and accessories, without adding unnecessary weight. Think handbags, backpacks, pouches, wash bags, toiletry cases, craft organisers, and even home décor items like cushions or storage bins.
Continuous zip gives you full control: cut each piece to the right length, add sliders from either direction, and build closures to suit your project. With tone-on-tone tape, coil, and pull in refreshing Mint, this zip brings a clean, modern finish. It pairs beautifully with pastels, bright prints, or crisp neutrals, making it an easy way to add colour while keeping the overall look tailored and professional.

Maker’s notes
-
A zipper foot and a moderate stitch length will give neat, parallel top-stitching.
-
Double-sided basting tape is handy to hold layers in place before sewing.
-
To finish ends, fold back the tape and stitch, or secure with a fabric tab.
-
You can safely sew across nylon coil if your design requires it; avoid doing so with metal teeth.
If you enjoy components that combine practicality with a dash of colour, this Mint No.5 continuous zip will quickly become a favourite—flexible, reliable, and easy to customise for projects that are as fresh as they are functional.

✨ Attaching a Zipper Pull
- Separate the ends of the zip tape by a few centimetres to give yourself space.
- Place the slider so the flat side faces upward and the curved side points down.
- Insert the first side of the tape into the slider until it catches.
- Line up the second side carefully and feed it into the opposite channel.
- Push both sides in gently until the teeth begin to mesh.
- Slide the pull along the tape to check it’s secure and moving smoothly.
✂️ Snip Snip Tip: For easier threading, cut about 5 mm of the zipper teeth off one side of the tape. Feed the longer side with the teeth into the slider first, then the trimmed side — the stagger helps the pull catch and align cleanly.
Alternative: Trimming both ends of the tape on a slight angle can also help. Seal the cut edges with a quick pass of heat or fray stop to prevent unravelling.
