Yes, all Matilda's Own batting is machine washable. Wash in cool/cold water on gentle cycle and air dry. Each batch is tested through 50 consecutive washes for durability. Expect minimal to no shrinkage.

Scrim wadding includes a fine mesh layer for stability and allows an increase in the distance between quilt lines. Matilda's Own scrim-free uses higher fibre content (170gsm) and mechanical needle punching to increase the stability and allow quilt lines up to 6" apart, ideal for modern designs with larger open areas. It's warm, forgiving to quilt (great for beginners), doesn't beard, and machine washes beautifully. The 60/40 ratio gives you wool's thermal properties with polyester's durability.
