Acrylic Ruler: A sturdy, transparent ruler made from thick acrylic—an essential tool for cutting fabric with precision. Designed to be used with a rotary cutter and cutting mat, these rulers feature clear grid markings, angled lines (like 45° and 60°), and come in a variety of sizes and shapes.
From classic rectangles and squares to speciality shapes like triangles and hexagons, acrylic rulers help you measure and cut quickly, accurately, and repeatably.
Patchwork Pointers: Look for rulers with non-slip grips or add your own grippy dots underneath to stop them sliding while you cut.
Appliqué: A decorative sewing technique where fabric shapes are sewn onto a background fabric. You can stitch them by hand or machine, often using a zigzag or blanket stitch.
Appliqué is a brilliant way to add flair to your quilts—from floral flourishes to playful motifs!
Snip Snip Tip: Using fusible webbing makes it easier to position and stabilise pieces before stitching.
