The Nordic Summer 5" Charm Pack by Gudrun Erla of GE Designs for Andover Fabrics brings together a striking mix of botanical prints, organic textures and geometric designs inspired by the colours and landscapes of Iceland.
Born and raised in Iceland, Gudrun Erla has drawn on her Nordic roots for this collection. Nordic Summer captures the contrast found in the Icelandic landscape, pairing cool watery blues and deep blue-greens with mossy and meadow greens, creamy neutrals and rich berry, plum and wine tones.
Nature runs throughout the collection, with leafy branches, berries, delicate flowers and foliage sitting alongside flowing wave-like textures and Nordic-inspired geometric designs. The combination gives the collection an organic feel without being entirely floral, with plenty of smaller-scale prints to complement the more detailed botanicals.
This manufacturer-cut charm pack contains 42 squares, each measuring 5" x 5". With a mixture of light, mid and deep tones already coordinated for you, the pack offers plenty of contrast for patchwork blocks, half-square triangles, charm quilts, cushions and other projects designed around 5" squares.
Nordic Summer has a wonderfully distinctive palette. It's earthy and botanical, but those deep berry shades and cool glacial blues give it a richness that sets it apart from a more traditional nature-inspired collection.
