As part of the Aurifil 8wt Collection, this thread is ideal for makers who want clarity, control, and an elegant finish in visible stitching.
Aurifil’s 8wt thread is the heaviest weight in their cotton range, spun from 100% long-staple Egyptian Mako cotton and mercerised for a smooth, lustrous surface. This 2-ply thread offers superior glide and produces very low lint, making it a refined alternative to traditional Perle cotton for big stitch quilting, Sashiko, hand embroidery, and decorative sewing.
Dark Grey creates contrast without harshness, working beautifully on pale backgrounds and alongside earthy or cool-toned palettes. It adds clean definition to motifs, outlines, and structural seams while keeping the overall aesthetic grounded and cohesive.

Washing Instructions:
- Machine wash in cold to warm water - no more than 70C / 160F
- Tumble dry at low to no heat
- Iron on low heat
- Can be laundered with bleach (if necessary) in cold water only
