Buttercup Meadow: A Sunlit Garden of Liberty Florals
Sunny yellow, fresh green and lively touches of pink, lilac and turquoise come together in Buttercup Meadow, a five-piece fat quarter bundle curated in-house at Morris Works with fabrics from Liberty’s Everlasting Collection.
This joyful colour story has all the character of a meadow in full bloom. Buttercup yellow runs throughout the selection, appearing in delicate flowers, botanical details and a striking tonal floral, while fresh leafy greens connect the five fabrics. Lilac, soft pink, turquoise, blue and tiny flashes of red add plenty of colour, creating a bundle that feels bright and cheerful without relying on a single dominant shade.
There’s a wonderful mixture of floral scales too, from tiny scattered blossoms to densely packed botanicals and larger, more expressive flowers. That variety makes Buttercup Meadow particularly useful for patchwork, where the different prints can create movement and contrast while the shared colours keep everything beautifully connected.
Use the five fabrics together for quilt blocks, English Paper Piecing, cushions, table runners and colourful wall hangings, or introduce coordinating plains and subtle blenders to develop the palette into a larger quilt. The smaller florals are also lovely for detailed piecing, bags, pouches and sewing accessories, while the larger prints have plenty of personality when given a little more space to shine.
Each bundle has been curated and cut in our Morris Works studio, bringing together five coordinating Liberty fabrics without the need to select them individually. Every fat quarter measures approximately 20" x 22" (50 x 56cm) and is cut from Liberty’s 100% cotton Lasenby Cotton, a premium quilting-weight fabric with a smooth handle and weight of approximately 145gsm.
