Product Description
Antique Blush from the Aurifil 8wt Collection
Elegant softness with a blush of vintage charm
Antique Blush (2375) is a delicate, rosy neutral that brings a quiet warmth to your stitching. Part of the Aurifil 8wt Collection, this thread offers a refined option for those who love the bold visual impact of heavier threads but crave a smoother, more manageable stitching experience.
Crafted from 100% long-staple Egyptian Mako cotton, Aurifil’s 8wt thread is a two-ply, mercerised beauty with a soft twist and a subtle sheen. It glides effortlessly through fabric, minimising tangles and producing significantly less lint than traditional Perle cotton. This makes it especially well-suited to hand quilting, Big Stitch techniques, and elegant hand embroidery.
Whether you're adding tactile dimension to home décor projects, constructing embellished accessories, or exploring modern textile art, Antique Blush offers a timeless softness that elevates your stitchwork. Its warm, muted tone works beautifully across a wide range of palettes, offering contrast against pale backgrounds or complementing deeper shades with gentle elegance.
Unlike the rope-like texture of #8 Perle cotton, Aurifil 8wt provides a smoother, cleaner finish, allowing stitch definition to take centre stage. The silken glow of this thread catches light softly, adding richness to every stitch without overwhelming your design.
Ideal for handwork but adaptable for decorative machine techniques with the right adjustments, Antique Blush is a versatile addition to any maker’s thread collection. Choose it for its blend of performance and beauty—especially when subtle sophistication is the goal.
