Product Description
Hobbs Heirloom Premium Fusible 80/20 - Full Roll
If you're a prolific quilter or run workshops, the Hobbs Heirloom Premium Fusible 80/20 Full Roll is the most economical and efficient option. Measuring a generous 96" wide and 27.5 metres long (30 yards), this roll gives you plenty of flexibility for large-scale projects or regular studio use. It features Hobbs’ signature needle-punched cotton/polyester blend with a clever heat-activated fusible coating on both sides—making it incredibly easy to baste quilts without sprays, pins, or clips. Just layer, press, and start quilting.
With its low loft and soft, supple drape, this fusible batting stitches smoothly and lies beautifully flat—ideal for both detailed piecing and modern minimalist quilts. It's designed to perform just as well under a domestic machine as it does on a longarm. Once washed, the fusible effect disappears, leaving behind a stable, breathable wadding that holds up to regular use.
Please note: this full roll is not carried in stock at our Brighton shop and will be dispatched directly from the warehouse in the manufacturer’s packaging.

Fusing Instructions
If desired, the quilt top and back can be ironed on separately, or you may also choose to use only one side of the fusible batting, in which case a piece of parchment paper or a non-stick mat should be placed under the side which will NOT be fused so it doesn’t stick to the ironing surface.
To fuse the Hobbs Heirloom® Premium 80/20 Fusible Cotton/Poly Blend Batting to your fabric, set your DRY iron to the appropriate temperature for your fabric (let it get nice and hot!) and press each area of the quilt, working from the center of the project to the outer edges – it’s important that you don’t move the iron, you’re pressing NOT ironing.
It’s also important that you use a dry iron, no steam – the fusing medium is water-soluble and if you get this batting wet, it won’t stick.
Press in each spot for approximately 5-7 seconds (test for adhesion by letting a pressed area cool before tugging on the fabric – if it’s adhered, continue; if it’s not, increase the amount of pressing time). Once you have covered the entire surface area of your quilt, allow the quilt to cool and check the back of your project to ensure it’s fully adhered and that there are no wrinkles or creases. Should you find wrinkles or creases, you can gently lift the fabric away from the batting, then smooth it back down and press it in place – you can make these adjustments 1-2 times before the fusing medium will no longer adhere the batting to the fabric.
