Aurifil’s 50wt/2ply thread is their most versatile and most popular Cotton thread. It is available in all 270 of their Cotton colors, and is wound on the iconic orange spool.
The 50wt is strong and thin, and results in remarkably flat and crisp seams. While it is wonderful for piecing, subtle quilting & topstitching, and English Paper Piecing it also works incredibly well for Needle Turn Applique, Bobbin and Machine Lace, Machine Applique (Straight Stitch, ZigZag, Blind Hem and Blanket Stitch,) Machine Embroidery, Dense Machine Quilting, Subtle Machine and Longarm Quilting, Basting, Whole Cloth and Micro Quilting, and Dense Background Designs.
Bobbin: Aurifil 50wt for Domestic and Longarm machines.
Needle: 70/10 or 80/12 Microtex/Sharp, Universal, Quilting, or Denim Needle for Domestic machines || 4.0 Needle for Longarm Machines.
Washing Instructions:
- Machine wash in cold to warm water - no more than 70C / 160F
- Tumble dry at low to no heat
- Iron on low heat
- Can be laundered with bleach (if necessary) in cold water only

I love /Aurifil thread
I was disappointed that no-one acknowledged the message I left about me making quilts and bags for children and young people who have long term health conditions I asked if you could help by donating a spool of thread or any cottons that are samples or end of line
