Product Description
Blue Grey Aurifil Quilting Thread
Versatile Aurifil Thread for Quilting and Sewing
Discover the touch of excellence for your sewing endeavours with Aurifil's Blue Grey Thread, a consummate companion to your fabric. This 100% MAKO Egyptian cotton thread, known for its unparalleled quality, is a treasure for enthusiasts and professional crafters alike. Wound on Aurifil's signature orange spool, this thread presents a sophisticated blue hue (Colour Code: 1126) that brings a serene elegance to any project.
Each large spool contains a generous 1300 metres of 50wt 2-ply thread, promising longevity for extensive projects. The 50wt thread, Aurifil's most celebrated variety, boasts a delicate yet robust structure that promotes exceptionally flat and crisp seams. The strength of this thread lies in its composition – the long staple cotton from the MAKO region, renowned for its durability and silky lustre.
Aurifil goes beyond the norm by infusing the thread with a transparent paraffin oil during winding, enhancing its smoothness as it dances through your machine. This careful process eliminates residue, prioritising functionality and ease, ensuring every stitch is a pleasure.
This versatile thread adapts to an impressive array of techniques: Needle Turn Applique, English Paper Piecing, and intricate Machine Embroidery, to name a few. It seamlessly supports both delicate Machine Quilting and robust Basting, making it an ideal choice for Whole Cloth and Micro Quilting or creating Dense Background Designs.
Pair this thread with recommended needles such as 80/12 Microtex/Sharp or a 4.0 Longarm needle to experience its full potential. Aurifil's Blue Grey thread is not just a purchase; it's an investment in the art of sewing, where every stitch speaks of quality and every project tells a story of craftsmanship.
