A lovely balance of warmth, resilience, and everyday practicality — our Matilda’s Own Wool Poly Blend Quilt Wadding Remnants offer a flexible way to work with a wool-rich blend while keeping your projects economical and sustainable.
These remnants are created in-house from roll ends and careful trimming during cutting, so sizes will vary — but each piece is made from the same trusted 60% wool and 40% polyester blend as our full-length cuts. The wool fibres provide natural breathability and softness, while the polyester adds strength and stability, helping quilts hold their shape through regular use.
Perfect for lap quilts, cushions, pet beds, small textile projects, or experimenting with a wool blend before committing to a larger cut, remnants give you creative freedom without waste. The fine stabilising scrim helps prevent bearding and allows for a generous quilting distance of up to 10", making this wadding suitable for both hand and machine quilting.
With a low loft of approximately ⅛+ inch (0.3+ cm) and minimal shrinkage of around 2.5%, this blend offers a smooth, balanced drape that works beautifully across modern and traditional quilting styles. Naturally hypoallergenic and free from resins, sprays, and glues, it provides a soft yet durable foundation for projects designed to be used and loved.
Each remnant is hand-folded and packaged plastic-free in our Brighton shop — because thoughtful quilting starts with thoughtful materials.

Care & Usage Tips
- Shrinkage: 2.5%
- Maximum Stitch Distance: 10" (25 cm)
- Suitable for both hand quilting and machine quilting
- Prewash not required. Recommended to wash in cold or cool water. Note that if washed in warm or hot water, additional shrinkage will happen, resulting in a very crinkled look. It is always recommended to air dry, though a finished quilted item can be tumble dried in a drier on a cool setting.
