Selim Benardete (aka Mr B) started Benartex in 1980. His father owned a textile business in Turkey and as a young man, he moved to the United States, receiving a Master’s Degree in Textile Engineering.
Originally selling specialty fabrics, after visiting some quilt shows, Mr. B “fell in love with quilting.” This transformed the focus of Benartex on 100% cotton quilting fabrics. Today, the Benartex name is associated with fine quilting fabrics. Mr. B’s commitment to the quilting world, attendance at quilt shows and availability to quilters has earned him the name “The Quilter’s Friend.” His vision and determination to provide the very best fabrics has made Benartex the number one choice for quilters.

We are currently building up our Benartex Fabric stock. For those fabrics which we might not have in our studio, we are able to quickly bring in most fabrics. This will only extend our current speedy dispatch times by only a day or two.

We only require a minimum purchase of ½ metre for fabrics we bring in. Printed Benartex fabrics are sold at £3.40 per ¼ metre (£13.60/metre) and Batiks at £3.81 per ¼ metre.
